War-Song

Words: Fernando and Sir Walter Scott
Based on the War-Song of the Royal Edinburgh Light Dragoons
Music: Fernando Rodriguez de Falcon

To Arm! To Arms! the Falcon flies,
The war horns sound the call;
The muster called by Crown's decree,
The voice of war is on the breeze,
Now gather, one and all!

From the Heartland now we come,
A band of brothers bold;
The arms we wear hold great renown,
With bird of prey our tabards crown;
The proud purpure and gold.

For gold let other's poor men fight;
Or plunder's bloody gain;
Unbribed, unbought, our swords we draw,
To guard our King, to shield his law,
Nor shall we fight in in vain.

If on gale of villain's breath
The Falcon Banner waves,
Or boot heal of invader tread,
Upon an Allies' hearth or head,
Recall the oaths you gave,

Then farewell home! and farewell friends!
So long each tender tie!
Resolved, we march - a dread war tide,
Where Calon men for justice ride,
To conquer or to die.To horse! to horse!

As spearheads gleam;
Heed now the war horns call;
Drawn forth by honor's sacred tie,
Our word is Law and Feal-tie!
March forward, one and all!

To Arm! To arms! The Falcon flies,
The war horns sound the call;
The muster called by Crown's decree,
The voice of battle's on the breeze,
Now gather, one and all!
